"Karoshi" is a Japanese term and it means "sudden death from overwork". Karoshi Lovers released their debut album "The Revolution Is Over" in February 2008 and subsequently in April 09 in Germany. And now we're finally there! The long awaited new album of Finnland's finest in terms of sinister pop-music is about to be released. The Helsinki-based trio recorded a great album over the last months. An album with all ingrediences needed to become an indie-pop classic. Late August will see a bigger feature/interview in Finland's most important free music mag "SUE", before the album will officially be released in Finland September 2nd.

Finland's probably most exciting band in terms of combining electronic music with influences from krautrock, psychedelic and contemporary serious music. For good reason they've been booked to support KRAFTWERK on their only festival appearance this summer in Finland. Aavikko's current album "Novo Atlantis" is definitely a milestone in krautrock tinged electronica. The threepiece from Siilinjärvi/Finland is definitely a blast on stage so you shouldn't miss them on their 2009 "Novo Atlantis"-tour. Here are the tourdates

Even though there is an ORKESTERI now Mäkkelä is still extensively touring solo. Quite some of those gigs are scheduled for this years autumn/winter. Prior to the Dutch and UK dates there will be 2-track download-single released. We'll keep you updated on this. Will be available around late November through the known digital distribution-services (i.e. iTunes, finetunes etc.). Check out his tourdates. Klezmer music's drunk & passionate saviour is coming over for another string of gigs to promote the release of "We Shall Not Flar Or Fail, We Shall Go On To The End" on 9pm Records/Indigo. This is the re-issue of his debut-album which has been out of print for quite some time. The album includes the whole "Light Enough To Travel" ep as bonus tracks. Besides this fall will see two Geoff Berner songs on herewith recommended compilations: "5 Jahre Folk'n'Fusion" is a beneficial compilation for the fantastic little "Folk'n'Fusion" festival in Hildesheim/Germany. The comp. will feature Geoff's song "Volcano God". Another song "Authentic Klezmer Wedding Band" from the previous album "Klezmer Mongrels" will be released later this year on a 3-CD Box titled "Sol Sajn - yiddish music in Germany" on reknown Bear Family label (distributed by Buechergilde Gutenberg in G/A/S worldwide through Bear Family).

Strassenkreuzer charity-compilation - an annual compilation with local Nuernberg musicians for the benefit of homeless people - will be released November 7th this year. The comp includes one track of Mäkkelä & Orkesteri's current album, "Saturday Song", in a remixed version (by Zattl of When Skipjack Tripped / Link to Website).
