...is as the title itself explains, a soundtrack to a European road movie. Not due to be screened until late next year, this unusual and charming film is the debut by the young Greek director Alexis Mueller. Filmed in atmospheric grainy black and white, the movie tells the story of a 20year old dancer, Lilian from las Vegas, who is searching the tracks of her idol Isadora Duncan (known as founder of modern dance). Travelling through Europe in an old Volvo Amazon, Lilian discovers a completely different world to the one which she thought awaited her...
This compilation of the film's music underlines in every aspect the "bitter-sweet" mood of the film and allows a unique and worthwhile aspect of European musicianship, not usually possible in todays world of MTV/VIVA, etc.
This is an exciting trip of discovery which delves deep beneath the floorboards of the culture jungle. Taking in aspects of Lo-Fi Pop, Easy Listening, singer-song- writer-attitude alongside more jazzier angles, the artists are certainly not afraid of experimentation. The composers who will also perform this soundtrack on a 3-weeks European tour in September 2001 are Clive Product, Erich, Colt, mäkkelä's trash lounge, Alain Briant, Grae J. Wall & Andy "K-Bone" Keeble.
